There was no surprise when bottom-rankedCapitalinas (0-6) were crushed on the road by third ranked Santa Tecla (4-2) 57-38 on Tuesday. Santa Tecla held Capitalinas to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Santa Tecla forced 29 Capitalinas turnovers. Forward Camila Lima (172-2003) stepped up and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Cuban guard Elianis Armenteros (175-2000, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla maintains third place with 4-2 record having just one point less than leader San Salvador. Loser Capitalinas still closes the standings with six games lost.
